The BayAPLN leadership team invites you to join us for a working session as we continue the Chartering process started in February to formalize our commitments and expectations for the year. III will facilitate us through a review of our current Charter, thinking about what's ahead and forming our Charter for the rest of 2008 and beyond. One important focus will be the type of organization we need to create in order to gracefully manage financial transactions. If you have expertise concerning non-profit/volunteer groups, we especially welcome your perspective. We encourage participation of everyone in the community and look forward to your contributions. TOPIC: Come for an update from Salesforce.com on their large scale Agile transformation and take the opportunity to chart your own journey with the benefit of their experience. Whether you are new to Agile and are wondering how it can be used in the rest of your organization, or just want an update on their progress since they last presented at BayAPLN, this event will be packed with information you will be able to use. PRESENTERS: Steve Greene is the Sr. Director of Tools & Process at Salesforce.com and is responsible for the implementation and evolution of agile methodologies and supporting tools for the Technology organization. He has held numerous senior management positions at On-demand startup and large enterprise software companies including DigitalThink, Hyperion, PeopleSoft/Oracle, SPC and AOL. He brings a wealth of expertise and experience in productivity, process and product delivery. He holds a BS in Computer Engineering from San Jose State University and is a board member of the BayAPLN. Chris Fry is a Vice President at Salesforce.com responsible for platform software development. He specializes in Software as a Service and creating and leading agile teams. He is the author of JSR-173 (Streaming API for XML) and has led the implementation and deployment of massively scalable Web Services at Salesforce.com and BEA. He received his Ph. D. in Cognitive Science from UCSD and was a post-doctoral fellow at UC Berkeley. IMPORTANT: Please indicate if you would like food at the meeting. The last few meetings we have ordered more food than required. So we're changing the model - we will only be ordering food for those folks who indicate that they WANT it and we'll be collecting donations for it at the door.
